Situated in The Street, in the beautiful village of Braughing, the Brown Bear is a must for residents, tourists, bike riders and walkers.

The Brown Bear is an old pub, early 16th century altered in the 17th and extended into a public house in the 19th. It is a Grade II building. You cannot help but be charmed by the old world interior of wooden beams. Surrounded by thatched cottages, its like a step into a bygone time.

The Brown Bear aims to become a premier public house in the area, building its reputation on great quality, well sourced, fresh, affordable meals for everyone and its good quality beverages.

The management are keen on a welcoming family atmosphere, having young children themselves. There is an ample sized garden,  enough to keep most amused for a while. There is a petanque pitch for those clever enough to play it and the pub boasts an outdoor shelter for smokers.
